frequently asked questions
Q: Where are you located and what areas do you serve?
A: I am located in Bakersfield, CA and I frequently visit WA, but I am willing to travel to wherever you need me! Outside of Kern County I require travel expense coverage.
Q: Why does wedding photography cost so much?
A: The time and investment put into a wedding, from both sides (the photographer's and couple) is priceless, it's hard to put a number on something so special, but to help you understand the cost that goes into capturing such important memories, I've compiled a list.
-Technical reasons! Photographers invest thousands of dollars into high quality equipment; cameras, lenses, lighting, editing software, etc. We also have business fees, insurance, software/equipment updates... the list goes on!
-Time! Many folks don't realize the amount of time a photographer is committing to a wedding. Outside of the 6-12 hours spent photographing the event, we are spending an average of 40 hours editing the images.
-It's my bread and butter! When you compare the average 9-5 job with a what a photographer does, you can gain some perspective as to why we have to charge more! Weddings are not every day from 9-5, they are maybe 3 times a month if we're lucky, even then we aren't promised business!
-You are paying for someone's skill set! When you hire a photographer, hopefully you are hiring someone who is passionate about what they do, passionate about capturing the most important day of your life and passionate about doing so with high standards.
Q: What is your photography style?
A: I like a journalistic approach with a focus on using natural lighting every chance I can get. This offers images that are light, colorful, and natural. None of that posed, dull, lifeless stuff from me!
Q: What kind of equipment do you use?
A: Take a look in my bag and you'll find a Canon 6D, 200mm, 105m, 90mm macro and 55mm lenses, external flash, tripod, and my trusty Macbook for editing.
Q: How do you get my photos to me and how long will it take?
A: You'll receive your edited images in digital form via an online album (great for easy sharing) and a customized flash drive! You can expect to receive the images 3-5 weeks after the wedding.
Q: What can I expect from you on my wedding day/photo shoot?
A: You can expect my absolute best! I have been passionate about photography for my entire life and your wedding or photo shoot is no different! I want to deliver my best and strive to better myself with each shot that I take. I also hold myself to a high professional standard, but I am friendly and will love getting to know you, your family and friends!
Q: How do I reserve a date?
A: I require a signed contract with a 25% deposit. The remaining payment must be paid in full 30 days prior to your wedding date.
Any additional features added at the wedding or during processing will be due upon receipt.
All other shoots: Full payment is required upon reservation and contract signing.
